The durability and washability of prints made with ECO sublimation paper is generally comparable to those made with standard sublimation paper, though a few factors can influence the results:
Durability:
High Resistance to Wear: ECO sublimation paper, when used correctly, transfers designs that are long-lasting and resistant to fading, cracking, and peeling. Since the ink bonds at a molecular level with the material, the prints are typically durable over time.
Outdoor Usage: The durability of prints on items used outdoors, such as sportswear, will depend on exposure to sunlight and elements. Sublimated prints tend to resist fading under moderate exposure to UV light, although excessive sun exposure can affect the longevity.
Washability:
Excellent Wash Resistance: Prints made using ECO sublimation paper usually maintain their vibrancy after many washes, especially on polyester fabrics. These prints often show minimal degradation in quality or color, even after repeated washing cycles.
Heat and Detergent Resistance: Sublimated designs typically hold up well against common detergents and heat from washing machines. However, to maximize print lifespan, it is recommended to wash in cold or warm water and avoid harsh chemicals like bleach.
Fabric-Specific Wash Results: Polyester fabrics and poly-coated materials show the best washability results, whereas prints on blended fabrics (e.g., cotton-poly blends) may fade faster.
The eco-friendly aspect of the paper does not seem to compromise durability or washability, as the sublimation process itself, when done correctly, yields high-quality, long-lasting results. However, proper printing and transfer settings (temperature, pressure, and time) must be followed to ensure these results.
